Defence Stocks
The major defence contractors — aircraft, missiles, defence systems and aerospace, with live prices and risk scoring.
The defence industry runs on a different logic from the rest of the market. The main customer is a government, contracts run for years and sometimes decades, and revenue is visible in advance to a degree almost no other sector enjoys. That produces unusually stable cash flow.
The price of that stability is political dependence. A defence budget is set by a vote rather than by a market, and a shift in government priorities affects these companies more than any economic figure. A firm with a full order book is still exposed to a budget decision.
The list holds both large platform manufacturers and suppliers of systems and components. The distinction matters: an aircraft maker and an electronics supplier are exposed to the same budget but at completely different margins and cycles.
Across the 10 names in this list that traded today, the average change was 0.01%. TXT led at 0.72%, and LMT lagged at -0.80%. A spread that wide inside a single theme shows the move is not uniform, and that the companies are worth looking at individually rather than as a category.
